NYFW SS18 #TXTakeover
Social Graces Social Club members and other friends from Houston journeyed to New York for some fashion week fun. While NYFW is "old hat" for many, it's a new experience for several of us - and what's great is that while the internet allows anyone to view the shows, it is truly different to experience "live and in person" and breathe in that NYC energy.
This fall, we all flew into town at different times and coordinated to meet up for a few shows. On November 8, our friends at Oxford Fashion Studio offered a full day of no less than 27 designers as a kick-off to their "round the world" schedule of hitting all the majors including NY, London, Milan and Paris. As founder Carl Anglim once lived in Houston, we are always delighted at how gracious he is to Houstonians at his shows.

A group of six of us reveled in the last 18 designers in two separate shows, and particularly LOVED Croation designer HeroforHeroes! (A couple of Houstonians may be wearing their designs to upcoming events).

Anika slipped out on Saturday morning to the Taoray Wang show with fellow Houstonian Kerry Chrapwily of WOND3R - the show was superb!
The evening of November 9 saw Houstonians converge for a #txtakeover collaboration with former Houstonian, now NY based designer Cesar Galindo, handbags by Elizabeth Purpich, and jewelry line Josnaa showcased their lines together in an intimate space followed by a fun, late night after party at The Standard Hotel's Le Bain.

And our shenanigans the next evening at a private dinner at Cesar and Ken's home:
Helen Castillo of Project Runway and Project Runway All Stars fame invited us to enjoy her show on Tuesday, September 12 at Style360NYFW, after which Anika made a mad dash for the airport and Nealette stayed in town to enjoy a few more moments in NYC.
Social Graces is already planning their next trip in the spring with a whole array of shows and sight-seeing for our members! Stay Tuned...
